Hiking Club Gromovača

Gromovača Mountaineering Association gathers citizens for active recreation, familiarization and protection of nature, especially mountains; trains members for mountaineering, i.e. movement, stay and life in the mountains, for various forms of sports and thereby contributes to their mental and physical recreation; teaches children and youth about mountaineering, i.e. movement, stay and life in the mountains, as well as behavior and attitude towards nature, especially nature protection; enables members to get to know their homeland (and the world), its history, culture and natural beauty; helps the professional training of its members.

The Gromovača Mountaineering Society organizes mountaineering trips, hikes, expeditions, exercises, competitions, camping and other forms of mountaineering and sports activities; organizes mountaineering schools and courses; sends its members to guide, orienteering, alpinist, speleological, ecological, marking, skiing, and other professional courses; promotes mountaineering among youth and citizens, and organizes and implements educational and cultural work among mountaineers; nurtures mountaineer ethics, develops philanthropy, selflessness, a correct attitude towards nature and the sense of its preservation, and creates conditions for the development of a healthy, strong and noble membership; collects literature, photographs, documents, audio and video recordings, and other resources; organizes lectures; collects material and financial resources for the improvement of mountaineering; maintains and marks hiking trails and detours; takes care of mountain shelters, houses, homes owned, rented or given to the Society for management; organizes the training of its membership for increased efforts in eliminating the consequences of natural disasters, accidents and other similar conditions; cooperates with other mountaineering societies and associations; cooperates with economic entities in performing tasks of mutual interest, with scientific institutions, schools, sports associations, federations and communities, institutions, state bodies and other organizations on the development of mountaineering and its social evaluation in Croatia and abroad; performs other tasks necessary for the development of the Company.
