The destination area of Lika covers an area of 6.796 km2 and over 60% of the area is protected by some form of protection according to the Law on Nature Protection in Croatia.The destination covers the areas of three counties, and in addition to the continental and coastal parts of Lika-Senj County, it also extends to parts of Karlovac County and Zadar County, thus forming a naturally rounded whole. The main activity of the cluster is the tourist promotion of the destination on the domestic and foreign markets based on its natural, cultural, historical, gastronomic and health features.
The destination offers a unique combination of land and sea, where in just 30 minutes of driving you have the opportunity to change as many as three climates like few places in the world and experience this unique phenomenon of contrast.
The Lika destination area includes 15 local government units (LGUs), namely 3 towns (Gospić, Otočac and Senj) and 12 municipalities (Brinje, Donji Lapac, Gračac, Karlobag, Lovinac, Perušić, Plaški, Plitvice Lakes, Rakovica, Saborsko, Udbina and Vrhovine).
