Lika Quality Lecture and the development of agrotourism in Lika destination
Cluster Lika Destination and Local Action Group Lika (LAG LIKA) held a total of 6 lectures on Integrated Economic Development Project INTEGRA LIKA 2020, the regional quality system Lika Quality and the possibilities of using sub-measures 6.2. and 6.4. from the Rural Development Program of the Republic of Croatia or possibilities of development of agrotourism in the Lika destination. Lectures were held in the period from 20.11. 2017 to 07.12.2017, year, in the order of: Otočac, Gospić, Korenica, Gračac, Plaško and Saborskom. Food producers as well as renters who participated in the lectures accepted this initiative very well and will, judging from the discussion that led to the lecture, a large number of them join the Lika Quality system and participate in the competition for support for the development of agro tourism. LAG Lika leader Tomislav Kovačević presented the results achieved by the project "INTEGRA LIKA 2020". He stressed that it is important for the public and all interested to get acquainted with the details of all projects if we want to withdraw as much resources to develop agrotourism. "It is important to know what kind of guests we want, what kind of categorization we want and the whole story about branding must be clear and accessible to everyone. After New Year's Eve, we are expecting a call for entry into the Lika Quality system, and we aim to get as many products in that system as possible to certify restaurants to serve such top quality products. " With regard to the publication of the Public Call for Accession to the Regional Quality System Lika Quality, details of the way of entry into the system and its structure were presented by the leader of the cluster Petra Butković. Ivana Starčević, a LAG Lika expert, explained a number of details about how to get support for non-agricultural activities and opportunities for agro-tourism development. Again, more than two years ago, the INTEGRA LIKA 2020 project was launched, aiming to brand Lika and the sub-mountainous littoral as a unique tourist destination. The destination will be branded on the basis of protected natural areas that we really spice up and through a gastronomic offer that is also unique.
