The main determinants of tourism development in the Lika-Senj County
Alumni Club of the Nikola Tesla University in Gospić under the patronage of Lika-Senj County, University Nikola Tesla, Plitvice Lakes National Park and tourist community of the City of Gospić held on 14 November 2018 a lecture on "The main determinants of tourism development in the Lika-Senj County". The introductory lecture was given by professor Mili Razović, who is behind the long experience of working in tourism. Professor Razović pointed out that the Lika-Senj County has many potentials that are insufficiently utilized and favorable geographic accommodation that can greatly contribute to the development of tourism. He also pointed out that the main brand of Lika-Senj County Plitvice Lakes National Park, which should be based on the development of the entire destination, and in this way, in cooperation with the Park, Cluster Lika Destination has been involved since the beginning of its operations. After the lecture, a panel discussion was held which was also moderated by professor Razović, and they participated: Petra Butković, Cluster Lika Destination Manager, Filip Jurišić, Deputy President of the Student College of the Nikola Tesla University in Gospić, Ivan Radošević, Director of the Tourist Board of Lika - Senj County, Mirjana Troha, sales manager of Hotel Stara Lika, Ivana Starčević manager Local Action Groups Lika (LAG LIKA), Maja Strilić, Director of the Tourist Board of Gospić and Marija Turkalj, Marketing and Sales Manager at NP Plitvice Lakes. In the panel discussion apart from the panelists, private sector leaders from the field of tourism also included. The conclusion of the discussion is that the Lika-Senj County has a lot of capacity to develop both existing and innovative resources but that there is a need for better communication between tourist communities and institutions from the whole area of Lika.
