Cluster Lika Destination participated in marking the International Mountain Day
Public institution The Northern Velebit National Park this year marked the Day of the Mountain on December 7, 2018 in Krasno on the 16th day of the whole day program. The program took place in the Krasno social hostel and was intended for visitors of all ages. Kids could enjoy many plays, games and face painting, and Velebit House was a day of open doors where visitors could watch the Velebit House with professional guidance. In the courtyard of the Krasno Social Home at the same time boiled kettles and wine, and artist Josip Tomaić from Krasna made a sculpture with a chainsaw. Also, throughout the day, visitors could taste and buy products from local family farms who had at the Social House exhibitions and sales stalls, including a manufacturer whose products carry the Lika Quality label. The afternoon part of the program was reserved for thematic lectures. The lecture was started by the director of the National Park of North Velebit, which emphasized the importance of the celebration of the International Mountain Day, but also 40 years of biosphere reserve "Mountain Velebit". Paklenica National Park Representative also mentioned the importance of 40 years of the Biosphere Reserve "Mountain Velebit" and added that the biosphere reserves of places where they live in harmony with nature and nature and that the biosphere reserve "Mountain Velebit" offers landscape diversity, biodiversity and biodiversity, with the fact that more than 100,000 people live there. The representative of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from Zagreb held a lecture entitled The Way of Lynx, after which a documentary film depicting the efforts of hunters and their associates to preserve the population of lynx in the Dinarides is presented. After that, Risnjak National Park presented Lynx Martin's case. In the continuation of the program was presented the presentation of the monograph of the Century of Senj mountain hiking, after which Cluster Lika Destination Manager presented Cluster work and pointed out as Lika's destination is extremely rich in protected natural areas and how tourism should focus solely on sustainable development.
