Announcement of the Public Call for the right to use the Lika Quality label
Ahead of the announcement of the new Public Call for certification of local products within the Lika Quality system, the Lika Destination Cluster announces a lecture where they will inform potential users about the conditions necessary for their product to be part of this brand.
Lika Quality is a unique system of quality food, drinks and souvenirs produced in the area of the destination Lika, which is increasingly recognizable in both the regional and national market. Recently, the whole world learned about it, because thanks to the Lika Quality system, the Lika destination is positioned among the 15 sustainable green destinations in the world at the tourist fair in Berlin.
This system was launched in 2017 as part of the Integral Economic Development 2020 project (INTEGRA LIKA 2020) in order to highlight and protect quality Lika products, and brand Lika as a gastro destination. At that time, the first 15 manufacturers received a certificate for their products. Today, 57 producers are included in the system, which is proof that the population is increasingly turning to local production and understands that product quality is key to any tourist offer. The system is implemented in cooperation with the Lika Local Action Group (Lika LAG), the Lika Destination Cluster and the Lika Coop Agricultural Cooperative.
In order for the product to bear the Lika Quality label, it is necessary to meet the criteria formed for each product category:
Local origin from the area of Lika: Brinje, Donji Lapac, Gospić, Gračac, Karlobag, Lovinac, Otočac, Perušić, Plaški, Plitvička Jezera, Rakovica, Saborsko, Senj, Udbina and Vrhovine.
Each manufacturer must be registered in accordance with all legal regulations
The products must be characteristic of the climate of the destination Lika.
"This year, we have decided to announce in advance the holding of lectures and the announcement of the Public Invitation. At the lecture, we will present all the criteria that a certain product category must meet in order for interested producers to be able to prepare on time and to avoid rejection of registered products due to incomplete documentation. "- says Petra Kovačević, cluster leader.
