Plitvice Lakes National Park became the center of attention this week at the tourism fair f.re.e, which takes place in Munich from February 14 to 18. This event, which attracts many visitors eager to get to know new tourist destinations, is particularly significant because it takes place in Bavaria, a region that traditionally contributes to a large number of visits to Croatia.

The Croatian Tourist Board took center stage at the fair, presenting a colorful offer with 25 co-exhibitors, including tourist boards, national parks, hoteliers, agencies and carriers. The fair was officially opened by the Bavarian Minister of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism, Michaela Kaniber, and the Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Munich, Vladimir Duvnjak, also attended the event.

The director of the Croatian Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić, emphasized the importance of the German market for Croatian tourism, which accounts for about 22 percent of the total overnight stays in Croatia. Staničić emphasized satisfaction with the results so far and optimism for the upcoming season, despite the challenges. In addition to Munich, Croatia is preparing to be presented at the fair in Berlin in March, which will be an additional opportunity to strengthen its position on the German market.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac particularly emphasized the importance of the Bavarian market for Croatia, stressing the goal not only to strengthen the existing position, but also to expand cooperation in the context of the year-round trip of Germans to Croatia. She spoke with Bavarian Minister Kaniber about the importance of cooperation in tourism, the new Tourism Act, and the connection between agriculture and tourism in order to promote local products and encourage small and medium-sized enterprises.

This appearance at the fair in Munich testifies to Croatia's continuous effort to present its best assets - from culture, natural beauty, quality accommodation to top-quality food and wine, which once again confirms Croatia as one of the top destinations for German tourists.
