The Lika Destination cluster was awarded the public recognition of the Lika-Senj County
On the occasion of the Day of Lika-Senj County, on May 23, a formal session of the County Assembly was held in Kino Korzo. Lika-Senj County Day is celebrated on the day when the Father of the Homeland Dr. Ante Starčević was born 201 years ago and when Lika-Senj County was founded 31 years ago. Along with Prefect Ernest Petri and other representatives of the county, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, who has been holding the title of honorary citizen of Lika-Senj County since last year, attended the ceremonial session. The event was also attended by the representative of the President of the Croatian Parliament, MP Ivan Dabo; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković; Minister of Environmental Protection and Green Transition Marija Vučković; Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds Šime Erlić; Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina; Member of the European Parliament Sunčica Glavan; President of the Croatian Union of Counties and Prefect of the Brod-Posavina County, Danijel Marušić; Prefect of Požega-Slavonia County, Antonija Jozić; chancellor of the Gospić-Senj diocese Mišel Grgurić; and state secretaries and directors of administrations, as well as mayors and chiefs of the Lika-Senj County and numerous other distinguished guests.
The session began with a minute of silence in honor of the fallen veterans and all those who gave their lives for the Motherland, after which the national anthem was performed. Ante Nadomir Tadić Šutra performed recitations of his songs, and the president of the county assembly, Marijan Kustić, opened the session with an appropriate speech. Mayor Ernest Petry reflected on the achievements of the county in the past three years and thanked the Government for its support in the implementation of numerous projects. Prime Minister Plenković also gave a speech, emphasizing investments in the Lika-Senj County and the Government's openness to further cooperation.
As part of the event, county public recognitions were awarded to deserving individuals and groups of citizens. Among the winners is the Lika Destination cluster, which was awarded for its contribution and achieved results in the field of economy and tourism and the promotion of Lika-Senj County in the country and the world. The award was accepted by the president of the cluster, Petra Kovačević. This recognition additionally confirms the cluster's successes and obliges it to continue activities in the same direction.
