Successfully implemented project "Career opportunities in tourism in Lika II"

The project "Career opportunities in tourism in Lika II" was successfully completed, bringing new opportunities and knowledge for the unemployed and young people in Lika. The Lika Destination cluster, in cooperation with the Polytechnic "Nikola Tesla" in Gospić and the Croatian Employment Service - regional office Gospić, realized this important project with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The project lasted from July 1, 2023 to July 1, 2024.

The goal of the project was to connect employers and employees in tourism with the unemployed and young people, and through education, to facilitate the exchange of information and contacts. This contributed to the development of awareness of career opportunities in tourism in Lika and to the strengthening of the attractiveness of tourist occupations.

Various project activities were successfully implemented, including a series of workshops, networking, a common platform and practical work. The target groups had the opportunity to connect with each other and learn about different opportunities for developing new or improving existing careers in tourism.

The workshops were focused on education about work in tourism. Through a total of four workshops, three held at the Polytechnic "Nikola Tesla" in Gospić and one online workshop open to a wider audience, the participants gained valuable knowledge. In addition, the field lesson held at the Tourist Board of the Town of Gospić provided practical experience and direct insight into the tourism sector.

The platform and contacts established through the project enabled direct communication between potential employees and employers, which created the foundation for further development and strengthening of tourism in Lika.

The project "Career opportunities in tourism in Lika II" showed how the synergy between educational institutions, state bodies and the private sector can result in positive changes and new opportunities for young people and the unemployed. This project is an important step towards strengthening Lika's tourist offer and increasing employment in this sector.
