Clean nature and healthy food: Lika for the third time on the world list of TOP 100 green destinations

Lika Destination is part of the TOP 100 again this year with the story "Together for a better future: Uniting people for the progress of the destination" in the "Green Destinations Top 100 Stories" contest.

Namely, from the Lika Destination cluster, they explain that it is a competition with the best stories about good practices from destinations around the world that are shared as inspiring examples for others, from tourism experts to travelers.

"Given that the tourism sector has been facing very difficult times in the last few years, the resilience and effort of these destinations to become more responsible should be celebrated," says the Cluster, which was founded in 2017, adding that the initiative was created as a response to economic stagnation and insufficiently developed tourism, with the aim of promoting clean and untouched nature and healthy food.

It brought together representatives of protected natural areas and local producers, creating the "Lika Quality" brand, and today it brings together more than 300 stakeholders in tourism within 15 local governments, while joint activities result in longer stays of tourists and strengthening of the position as a recognizable tourist destination.

"We are witnessing an increasing presence of Lika in the media, intensified cooperation between different sectors, and this is only possible through joint, dedicated work with a higher goal of the joint progress of all stakeholders in the local community," said Petra Kovačević, president of the Lika Destination Cluster, adding that focused on the results of all stakeholders that come as a result of joint work aimed at common welfare.
