The first tourist cluster was founded in Lika
On February 28, 2017, the first tourist cluster was established on the initiative of LAG LIKA in Gospić. As the implementation of the INTEGRA LIKA 2020 project, which, in full swing, aims at branding Lika and the Velebit coast, LAG LIKA has brought together touristic agencies from this area and have jointly established a tourist cluster. The main goal of the cluster is to promote the destination. Let us recall, through the well-known five-year project of INTEGRA LIKA 2020, LAG LIKA has been implementing the process of brandishing Lika and its coast as a unique tourist destination for a year and a half. To this end, the LAG has developed a regional quality mark named Lika Quality with which, as they say, will soon be released to the public. All local producers of high quality food and beverages will compete for this label and it will guarantee exceptional quality and traceability in production. The Lika Quality label LAG has been protected by the State Intellectual Property Office as a warrant. Also, what's important to emphasize is that all the restaurants that purchase their supplies from local brands with Lika Quality label will also be able to use that mark. As highlighted in the Lika LAG, this project enbles locally produced food to enter the category of so-called premium products and directly promotes its market presence in local restaurants. This will eventually be rewarded by quality local producers, it will also guarantee their market and Lika will be branded as an excellent gastronomic destination. The whole process of branding has been welcomed and supported by representatives of tourist agencies in the Lika and its coastal area which have today established LAG with Lika destination cluster, and these are following travel agencies: Adria-Velebitica, Hana tours, LiTO, Japodski forum, MaDi tours. The cluster is open for cooperation with the entire tourist sector. The established tourist cluster expects numerous challenges and a great deal of work, seeing as Lika and the coast are an area of great tourist potential that has not been tourism-valorized.
